I close my eyes;
no shade is enough
to dim the brightness
of your last smile.
Still, I see it.

I cover my ears;
no song is enough
to muffle the sound
of your last laugh.
Still, I hear it.

If forgetting you
were as easy as breathing…
Only, it isn’t.
Still, I need it.
